VISION AND MISSION

VISION:

Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya aspires to guarantee and implement a holistic academic orientation whereby our students can emerge suitably prepared for the challenges of the future. The college aims to create future citizens of the country who are capable and worthy of advancing the progress and development of the nation. Although the college has many limitations, the target is to transform itself into an institution of higher learning where talent, capability and potential can be nurtured and allowed to flourish which in turn can help both the local community as well as the nation as a whole. The college seeks to become a centre of learning through which equal opportunity can be provided to scholars of all socio-economic backgrounds, religions, gender, caste and ethnic identities and thereby play its role in the overall progress of the nation. The vision of the college is as mentioned below:

1. To develop into a centre of learning which promotes critical and independent thought and expression.
2. To integrate ethical values, moral principles and a scientific orientation alongside academic and professional skill development.
3. To encourage interest in regional culture and history and find its place within the national fabric.
4. To instill social values and responsibility among the scholars through co-curricular and extension activities.
5. Through various initiatives such as organic farming, rainwater harvesting, tree planting, waste management systems, Save Water Drive and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, to prepare our scholars to cope with the challenges of the future where global warming is a central issue that will influence national and international policies.
6. To encourage a healthy and hygienic environment through various initiatives and workshops designed to instill in the scholars a respect for the same such as Yoga for Stress Management, cleanliness drives, cycle rallies, blood donation camps, health check-up camps, workshops conducted by healthcare workers.
7. To eradicate dominant attitudes of gender bias in the region by empowering female scholars through access to professional and academic development and through courses and workshops for all students on gender sensitization.
8. To provide students access to opportunities for developing professional skills in keeping with the challenges of the Digital India.

MISSION

The mission of Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya is to provide young scholars with an environment that enables them to attain their full potential. The college aspires to foster an approach to learning and knowledge creation through student participation that encourages free-flowing and creative thinking, a research-oriented mindset and a multidisciplinary perspective. The college wishes to transform itself into an institution that helps scholars both academically as well as exposing them to professional skills through various skill-development opportunities. The mission of the institution are mentioned as follows:

1. To promote quality education;
2. To provide students with a rounded multidisciplinary orientation and prepare them for future research activities;
3. To offer skill enhancement and capacity building opportunities;
4. To inculcate an ethical outlook in the students thereby making them socially responsible citizens;
5. To provide a green campus and instil in the students a responsibility towards protecting and preserving the environment;
6. To encourage avoidance of bad habits.
