ABOUT THE COLLEGE


Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya is a government aided college affiliated to the cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University in Cooch Behar district. It is situated at Ghoksadanga, near Ghoksadanga police station which is 25 km away from Cooch Behar district town and 14 km from Falakata Town. Communication of the college is very good with a bus stop on National Highway, and a rail station is very near.


The college campus offers lush green meadows with delicately maintained garden and pollution free, calm environment which will refresh your mind. College runs in a very friendly and cordial relationship between teaching, non teaching staff and students.


The institution which was established in 2011 through the kind donation received from Shri Birendra Kumar Saha after whom the college is named. Any discourse on the history of the college would however remain incomplete if we do not refer to the enthusiastic participation of peoples of ghoksadanga and surrounding villages. At present Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya is offering B. A. Honours in six subjects—Bengali, English, History, Political Science, Sanskrit and education. College also offer B. A. Programme course in subjects like Bengali, English, History Political Science, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Physical Education and Geography. The students are continuously doing very well in the University examinations. The college also has a great tradition of observing cultural festivals with the enthusiastic participation of the students and teachers.
