The Department of Philosophy of Ghoksadanga Birendra Mahavidyalaya started its journey in 2011. In the B.A. Part-1+1+1 systems, the department offers only Philosophy General Papers for B.A. Part-1, Part-1+1, and Part-1+1+1. After introducing the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in the session 2017-2018, the department offers DSC Philosophy, DSE Philosophy, SEC Philosophy, and GE Philosophy. After introducing NCCF 2023 (NEP 2020), the department got permission to introduce Major Philosophy, Minor Philosophy, and MDC Philosophy from the Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University and West Bengal Higher Education State Council.
